Jan has been working as a Counsellor and Family Therapist for two years with Life Bridge. Her passion lies in working with young children, adolescents and their families to provide a safe, trusting environment where all stories are heard and respected, so that individual and family health and relationships are healed and nurtured. Jan uses expressive therapies such as sandplay and art therapy to help people to tell their stories. She encompasses Psychodynamics, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in her counselling framework to develop creative, individual treatment for her valued clients. Jan specializes in working with anxiety, grief and loss, self-worth and identity, conflict resolution and marriage and family therapy.

Jan was a Primary School Teacher for 9 years and has continued to teach faith development within her church with young children and adolescents for the past 13 years. She has developed a faith programme for teenagers to help them understand their relationship with God and the beliefs of the church. The essence of Jan’s beliefs is seen in the value that she gives to all people whom she meets.

Following her upbringing in Brisbane, Jan experienced living in several country towns and travelled extensively over the world. She has been a resident on the coast for the past 25 years. Her husband of over 20 years shares four wonderful children with her, aged between 13 to 19 years.
