Lyn has been working as a Counsellor and Family Therapist for the last 7 years in community agencies across the Sunshine Coast. She has been lecturing for 5 years, been the Queensland Co-ordinator for The Australian Institute of Family Counselling (AIFC) and lecturer for Kings College.
Lyns approach to counselling is eclectic encompassing Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamics and Solution Focused Therapy. Lyn specialises in grief and loss, conflict resolution, self worth and identity, trauma and injury and chronic illness. Marriage and Family Therapy.
Lyn has a passion for youth and for families. Her approach is preventative and is based in teaching life skills. This passion has seen her develop and implement a program called “Hope, Identity and Purpose”. In the year 2003, “Hope, Identity and Purpose” was piloted at Kawana State High School with extremely positive outcomes. As a result of the success of the program Lyn has become a registered service provider in the area of sexual health education for North Coast Aboriginal Corporation Community Health. This program has now been developed for businesses to assist with team building.
Lyn also has an extensive history as a Registered Nurse (RN) ranging over 13 years working in hospitals, medical centres and community settings and holds a child safety card.
Lyn has been married for over 20 years and they have four children, aged between 10 and 18. Lyn lived on the Sunshine Coast for the last 15years. Prior to that Lyn has enjoyed living in various parts of the world including New Zealand, Germany and different parts of Australia. As owner and manager of Life Bridge, Lyn believes that Life Bridge is to the bridge between the community and the church.
