What do patients say about Virtual Reality hypnosis?
Smoking Cessation
Steve is a man in his forties who has smoked since he was a teen. Hypnosis helped him to quit.
"I wanted to quit smoking and a friend of mine suggested I try hypnosis through his GP who does hypnotherapy.
"I learned that hypnosis is a technique that helps you concentrate. By relaxing and focusing your mind, along with positive suggestions, you can greatly influence your health and well being for the better and it did help me quit.
"I've since learned that hypnosis is a powerful and natural tool to help with a range of medical conditions from dental phobias, anxiety, through to managing pain."
Mild Anxiety and Depression
Jemma is a young woman who experiences a great deal of stress and anxiety in her job and has interrupted sleep as a result. Hypnosis helped Jemma to regain control of her anxiety.
"The reason I wanted to try the hypnosis was because I was giving a presentation and I was a little uncomfortable and not very relaxed about the whole thing. I'm not a very good sleeper, I dream a lot … and there are things that are going on at the moment.
"So I tried it out and found it did actually help me. It worked really well… I felt really relaxed for the rest of the day – even giving my presentation.
"It was as though all of my worries and all the things I'd been thinking about just went away for that particular day and even during the night".
Sleep Disorders
Liz has suffered from insomnia for a number of years and more recently has experienced migraine headaches on a regular basis. A doctor recommended she try hypnosis.
"I lacked sleep… I'd go to sleep okay and in the middle of the night I'd wake up and just lay there for a couple of hours – not really thinking about anything in particular, but by the time the alarm clock was due to go off, I was ready to go back to sleep.
"I also suffer from migraines and headaches quite frequently but they have probably been worse over the last 18 months than they have ever been.
