Andersen’s Counselling & Therapy Service (ACTS) provides professional counselling to children, adolescents and their families on the Sunshine Coast.  ACTS is staffed by professionally qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellors who are Social Workers, and members of the AASW, accredited mental health social workers under the Allied Health professionals COAG Mental Health Better access to psychiatrists, psychologists and general practitioners through the Medicare Benefits Schedule initiative.

WHAT DO WE OFFER

ACTS provides support and assistance with issues such as; abuse, trauma, anger management, behavioural problems, relationships, self esteem, bullying, grief and loss, family separation,  blended/step families issues and Protective Behaviours Education. 

We provide this support and counselling by means of generalist counselling and therapy, and specialise in play therapy, emotional release counselling and dance therapy.

In addition, as accredited mental health social workers, ACTS is experienced in providing the following intervention modalities to adults and children;

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
• Psycho-education, including motivational interviewing
• Relaxation Techniques
• Skills training
• Problem solving skills and training
• Anger management
• Social skills training
• Communication training
• Stress management
• Parent management training
• Interpersonal Therapy (especially for depression)
  
  

COSTS INVOLVED

ACTS aims to provide affordable service to its clients.  For health care card holders we are able to bulk bill medicare and for non health care card holders there is a minimal gap fee to be paid after the bulk billing amount.

Initial Consultation $95 p/session (assessment and development of therapeutic case plan)

Follow up sessions $80
